1939 Snow White Emerson Radios

Two Snow White radios from 1939. Manufactured by the Emerson Company. Radio collector Philip I. Nelson has created a webpage with pics documenting his progress in the restoration process of the Emerson "Snow White" Model 247.
Under contract with Disney, Emerson produced two different versions of the Snow White radio, as well as two Mickey Mouse sets. The Emerson "Snow White" Model 247 radio is a classic figural set, showing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs frolicking before their rustic cottage.
The front of this cabinet is made of "repwood," which was a mixture of ground wood and a glue or binder, compressed with a mold. Repwood was used for many different decorative items of the time, since it could be molded into detailed shapes and finished to match other wood parts, such as this cabinet's frame. SOURCE: Philip I. 1. Thanks Sheryl and Venus. I really like the look of Snow White on the cleaned (but not yet painted) face of the first radio above. It's a fresh yet very vintage rendering of the princess.
